Wyatt’s Bed and Biscuit is a full-service dog boarding facility located in the peaceful country setting of Montmorenci, SC. However, this pet B&B is so much more than just a place to board your animals for a few days. Wyatt’s is surrounded by large beautiful trees and frankly, any human would be happy to spend time at Wyatt’s.
Lori Naja opened Wyatt’s in 2007 after owning a kennel in Greenwood, SC. She had spent many winters in Aiken galloping horses and came to love the area so she moved here and opened up a unique business to the area.
Lori and Vicki (Manager of Wyatt’s) gave me a tour of the beautiful property. Their love for animals is very evident. I was greeted by a talking parrot, Wasabi, who I’m told will bark like a dog and will spout profanity once in a while. They also have chickens that lay eggs. Lori says she has not bought eggs since she moved here 11 years ago. As I toured the property, we were greeted with a barn cat, horses, mini horses and a donkey. Lori plays music during the day for the horses and other animals near the barn. She has also rescued two deer. One of them is named Junior and has 3 legs. They like Wyatt’s so much that they haven’t left!
Lori named her business after one of her very special dogs. Wyatt was a Boston Terrier with a huge personality. Lori says she only had a few years with Wyatt (he passed at only 4 years old) but he left a mark on her heart. “Wyatt was one of a kind and will always have a special place in my heart.”
Lori lives on the property. So, you can rest assure that if anything ever happens during the night, like a storm, she will be there with the animals. She is very aware of everything that goes on at the kennel. During one of the ice storms, Lori and her employees met pet parents at the end of the road to facilitate a tricky situation. Wyatt’s has 42 indoor/outdoor kennel runs and large grassy areas for your dogs to run and play. They even offer a daycare service for dogs who need extra playtime throughout the day. If your dog needs to be groomed, Wyatt’s does basic grooming like baths and nails.

Lori says, “One of the joys of working with animals is forming a bond with them and the pet parent.” Some dogs have been with Wyatt’s since the very beginning. Being in the Aiken area, they see a wide variety of people and wide variety of dogs.
Lori’s advice to someone who is thinking of starting a small business is, “Make sure you have everything well planned out and always treat your customers with respect; without them you have no business.”
