I moved to Aiken, South Carolina 6 years ago with my family from West Columbia, SC. In addition to crafting, I work as a full time caregiver for a local company and am a licensed cosmetologist. Growing up I lived with my grandmother. She taught me all kinds of crafts. We would sit at the kitchen table making memories while crafting. My favorite memory was making magnets using pecan shells and turning them into little animals together. Crafting tends to be a very therapeutic activity and allows for me to bring my creative vision to fruition.
Over the last few years, I have been developing my skills and expanding my genre of handcrafted items. At first, it was just something to do, then I noticed other people loved my items as much as I do. So I started making t-shirts and decals. Then, I began personalizing pillows, tumblers, and even jewelry. A craft dear to my heart is bringing treasured handwritten family heirlooms into something people can treasure. I do this by incorporating someone’s traced handwriting and making personalized crafts with them. An example is putting your grandmother’s recipe in her handwriting on a tea towel or a message from a loved one on a pillow. Now these precious memory keepsakes can be cherished for a lifetime.
