Meet Felicia
Felicia Postles is a native of Aiken and owns Sunglass Image located on the Southside of Aiken. The store sits nestled in a strip mall called “Shoppes At Whiskey”, among a few other businesses that once called the Aiken Mall home. Sunglass Image first opened in 2002 as a Sunglass Hut. Later, the store made the transition to a premium dealer and became Sunglass Image.
Felicia went to school at Aiken-Tech and at first was majoring in multi-skilled nursing. She quickly realized that nursing wasn’t for her and switched gears and graduated with an associate degree in business. Felicia then discovered her passion for business and was able to take over the family owned business. She has been growing Sunglass Image ever since!
The Store
As a premium dealer, the store can offer customers options to customize glasses to their own frame preferences. This means high quality top performance designer brands are available at the store. Customers can pick out any frame color and lens option, and Sunglass Image will take care of the rest for any customer. The store offers a variety of lens options from glass or polycarbonate, as well as polarized and non-polarized lenses.
Sunglass Image carries a variety of luxury sunglass brands such as Costa Del Mar, Maui Jim, Ray Ban, Versace, and Michael Kors among other brands. The store also sells Costa apparel and Yeti products. At any given time, Sunglass Image has a selection of over 1,000 pairs of sunglasses to try on in a readily accessible environment. Felicia stresses the importance of a good pair of sunglasses for the sake of the safety and protection of your eyes. Not to mention, sunglasses will never go out of style.
Advice for You
Felicia offers some advice to hopeful entrepreneurs looking to open up their own businesses, “It takes money to make money,” said Felicia. She encourages young entrepreneurs to have a business plan and to be prepared for any hiccups down the road of opening a new business. She also encourages the use of the Score Counsel mentors in Aiken. Felicia praises them for all the help and feedback they were able to give her when she was growing her business. Felicia also stresses the importance of building relationships with their customers. She tries to provide a fun, highly engaging shopping experience for her clients.
In the Future
Sunglass Image looks to grow in the near future. In 2019-2020 the store is looking to expand their 17 years of success in the Augusta area.
